Stuffed to the gills!

I hope Thanksgiving was amazing for everyone...we had a Turduchen, and truth be told, I was a bit disappointed. It's okay, because there were two turkeys in addition, and lots of pies!

I'm trying to catch up on homework i've not done, reading i've not done, and everything else I can think of that i've simply put aside out of laziness...right now i'm working on a Flash banner, and it's four days late. I have a brain fart with flash, it's not as fun as doing layout, and it's a little bit frustrating - so i've been ignoring it. I have a HUGE book on Flash, and i've read three pages of it. In actuality, Flash is NOT difficult, it just takes time, and i'm used to getting stuff done quickly. Even when I was painting, it would piss me off if it took more than a week to finish a painting. I was waffling between taking a Flash class or a JavaScript class next quarter, and i'm going with JavaScript. That will be frustrating too because there's a math element to it - but I think it will be more satisfying to conquer. We'll see.

ALSO, I buckled down and ordered high-speed internet. I'm such a miser that i've been depending on GoogleWiFi, which is another reason my homework is late all the time - shit only works late at night (like, 11 pm onwards) and really early in the morning (like 5 am to 7 am) all the hours which I am sleeping. I've had to rethink some of the things of which I had previously taken a hard stance with - for example, credit cards. For years, i've been proclaiming that credit cards are 'ze deevil' but then my debit card number got stolen, and fighting to get the cash back into my checking account was HELLACIOUS! Credit cards, no hassle. So now i'm a convert. Hooray for the credit cards!

Well, it's Friday, black Friday they say, so i'm going to try to get some of this work DONE!

Hooray!!!

Excellent!!!

Thank you, all who voted, thank you for proving that there is, indeed, hope for America!!!!!

I'm sure i'm not the only one, but I had to watch the elections with a crazy Republican in the room who did not stop with the snarky, sarcastic, crappy comments...sore loser!

This is an amazing thing for our country, and i'm looking forward to the changes to come!

I'm now one of those people...

...who fall asleep at 10 pm...at the party.

I woke up an hour later with a blanket and hardcore snuggling a stuffed panda.

I'm surprised that none of my co-workers got a picture of this. I think it was pretty amazing.

Yep, it rawked....

The concert was radness, my wallet is lighter, but it's okay!

hooray-concert.jpg

The only bummer thing was the crazy doods that stand there with picket signs and a bullhorn and tell you you're going to hell, and God hates metal music, and what a bad person you are, blah blah blah...I usually ignore them, but I found myself yelling at them , what a waste of my time...

ANYWAY! It's a beautiful Labor Day Monday! If you haven't yet made plans, I strongly suggest you do something that involves the outdoors, good food, and tasty beverages...

Woooo, heat!

We just went out for a ride last night, and it was like, 85 degrees at 9 pm, wow! It's good bike riding weather, indeed!

We had a lizard hanging out in our living room as well, I guess it was too hot outside...he was just a 'lil guy, super cute...

It's Friday, which equals the weekend, which means beer tonight. Add them all up, and you have...radness

This week has been interesting - the most exciting stuff is going to happen this weekend, more sleevage, a concert on Sunday, and a BBQ on Monday (hellz yeah!)

Enjoy your day...i'm about too!

This is a quiet night with the husband...

We went out and had a quiet dinner at Tied House here in Mt. View, and I had a delicious pint of Alpine Gold, - we got our Growlers filled, stuck 'em in our backpacks, and started riding our bikes home....

tiedhousecascadeamber.jpg

On the way we got a call from a rad friend we haven't seen in awhile...home to sleep you say? Oh no, it was into the car and down to the downtown to while away the evening...and what an evening was had!

There was arm wrestling, and the bartender even put bets down on us, but there's no pictures (because I lost.)

We stayed until last call, (which explains why I didn't get up until 11 am today), but the fun didn't stop...

The unsuspecting Schwinn was the "butt" of our consternation...

Lyds showed us how one correctly get one's groove on...

We said our farewells and everyone went home happy and safe...good times all around!

Non-Stop Party Weekend,

...and i'm beat. Sunday was going to be a day of rest and recuperation, but a last minute phone call turned it into this instead...

Which is WAY more exciting, if I do say so myself.

Sleep makes everything better...

A good night's sleep makes me feel like i'm ready for a good day, it makes me feel like, I dunno...good times!

You know what I mean?

It was a WTF??!!? kinda weekend...

This weekend was jampacked to the gills with a lot of stuff. A LOT of stuff...I'm so...astounded-confused-amazed...and in some instances even a little disgusted. I've learned the hard way how things get out of hand in some situations (i've been the bad guy and the victim - and neither are good...) and so now i've settled down to a life of chillness-sans-drama...and parties...well, parties are where i've learned to be the observant one.

drama_queen.jpg

I observed - a lot - this weekend. I'm trying to forget half of it because my brain will feel better if I do. The less said, the better. On a positive side, Nate and I got our groove on out on the dancefloor, and tasty margarita's and other assorted beverages were consumed. Sunday was a day of radness that started with breakfast at A Good Morning (best.diner.ever) with some good friends, and ended with a home cooked meal. There was stuff in-between that included some rehashing of the previous night's shenanigans, and i'm ready now to sleep and shove some of it way deep down in a sub-concious place where it can stay.

Partied out...

I'm officially old and partied out. The fireworks were amazing last night, and now i'm plum tuckered out.

Yesterday, I;

  • Had champagne out of a paper cup, because that's just how classy I am
  • Went swimming
  • Had barbeque
  • Eavesdropped on various bits of tomfoolery and intrigues
  • Got tipsy and talked shit
  • Saw fireworks
  • Came home and went to bed

Now i'm drinking coffee and waking up...three hours after officially getting out of bed. Today should be a day of riding, then rest, then more riding...but we shall see...

I like the days off and the party and stuff...

I like the three day weekend thing. Absolutely.

Holiday-days are always an interesting hodgepodge of conflicting things - things you want to do, things you have to do, and things you'd rather be doing - etc. Which I guess is actually kinda like everyday, but amplified on a holiday because there are other people involved.

Days like this, I just ask myself "What would Danzig do?"

It seems to clear up some of the indecision...
